Michael Blake is our clear choice for Congress. He has built a record of public service marked by integrity, commitment, and a deep understanding of the needs of the people and communities he seeks to represent. Across different levels of government, Blake has shown a consistent purpose: service to the community and advancement for those too often left behind.
In the Obama administration, Blake carried out key assignments that helped keep communities of color engaged, informed, and connected to public service. At the legislative level, as a member of the New York State Assembly, he delivered for his community. He understood local issues, fought to bring resources home, and worked to support development and opportunity in the Bronx.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of his opponent when it comes to integrity of purpose and service to the needs of the people.
One would expect that a young man who rose from difficult circumstances would carry with him a special sympathy for those who struggle, and that his priority would be to lift up the communities from which he came. Instead, he appears to have lost his way in the halls of power, placing his own interests and political positioning above the urgent needs of the community.
He has been found attending to the interests of those who have little concern for his district, while failing to give full attention to the struggles of the people at home. His support for immigration policies aligned with Donald Trump, along with praise for ICE operations, is deeply troubling at a time when immigrant communities are under attack and basic human rights are being threatened.
He has also been named among the highest recipients of contributions from AIPAC, raising serious questions about whose interests are being served. At a moment when the horrors in Gaza were on full display and should have moved the conscience of any public official, his position stood far apart from the moral clarity and human concern that communities expect from their representatives.
This is in sharp contrast to Michael Blake.
Blake has worked with small businesses in his community. He has supported job creation. He has stood with tenant groups in the fight for affordable housing. He has consistently focused on the needs of the Bronx and on providing real representation for the people at home, not serving the interests of some distant power or far-off political agenda.
Michael Blake, the son of a Jamaican immigrant, is ready for this fight. He is ready to stand up for the people of the Bronx. He is ready to challenge Donald Trump and his destructive policies. He is ready to oppose ICE and its attacks on human rights and immigrant communities.
That is what Michael Blake stands for. That is the kind of representation the people of the Bronx need, representation rooted in service, integrity, courage, and commitment to the community.
For these reasons, Carib News proudly endorses Michael Blake for Congress in New York’s 15th Congressional District.
