Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel is set to usher in a major new chapter in his career with the release of his upcoming album God & Time, scheduled to drop on June 5, 2026. The project is now available for pre-order alongside the release of the album’s title track and accompanying music video.
The album arrives following Kartel’s recent streak of critically acclaimed projects, including the Grammy-nominated albums Party With Me and Heart & Soul, as well as the anniversary release of Viking (Vybz Is King).

Described as one of his most personal and sonically diverse projects to date, God & Time explores themes of survival, rebirth, faith, and redemption following Kartel’s release from prison after spending 13 years incarcerated.
The forthcoming album will feature collaborations with several major artists, including Puerto Rican star Farruko, Jamaican dancehall artist Skillibeng, and Shenseea, who previously appeared on the single “Panic.” Additional guest appearances are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Throughout the project, Kartel blends traditional dancehall with crossover influences, moving between introspective storytelling, high-energy anthems, romantic tracks, and emotionally vulnerable moments. The album’s title draws inspiration from the Jamaican phrase “God & Time,” a saying rooted in patience, destiny, and faith.
The title track reportedly carries a reflective tone similar to Kartel’s post-release hit “God Is The Greatest,” which has already surpassed 30 million video views this year. The official “God & Time” music video, directed by Ruppi and filmed in both Miami and Kingston, was released alongside the announcement.
The project is produced by longtime collaborator TJ Records in partnership with Kartel and reunites the team behind albums such as Viking (Vybz Is King) and King of the Dancehall, which featured the RIAA-certified hit “Fever.” The album will be distributed through Zojak World Wide.
This summer, Kartel is also expected to headline Reggae Sumfest on July 18, 2026, alongside fellow dancehall heavyweight Mavado. The performance is being promoted as a major cultural moment, reuniting two artists whose rivalry helped shape dancehall throughout the 2000s.
Born Adidja Palmer in Portmore, Jamaica, Vybz Kartel remains one of the most influential figures in dancehall history. Despite his incarceration, he maintained a consistent musical presence and global cultural impact through hits such as “Fever” and “Romping Shop.”
Since his release in July 2024, Kartel has continued to expand his international profile through sold-out tours, Grammy nominations, major media features, viral livestream appearances, and collaborations with artists including Drake, Travis Scott, Tyla, and Chris Brown.
Beyond music, Kartel has also expanded into business ventures and philanthropy through initiatives including Str8 Vybz Rum, fashion partnerships, and the Adidja Palmer Foundation, which supports hurricane relief and community rebuilding projects in Jamaica.
