Kingston, Jamaica — The Government of Jamaica has launched a new online platform, supportjamaica.gov.jm, to coordinate national relief and recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The website serves as the government’s official hub for disaster response, enabling Jamaicans at home and abroad to donate securely, submit pledges, report emergencies, and locate nearby shelters.

Officials say the platform was developed to ensure transparency, safety, and efficiency in channeling assistance to the communities most affected by the hurricane.
A government spokesperson reminded the public that only websites ending with “.gov.jm” are officially managed by the Government of Jamaica, cautioning citizens to verify the authenticity of any online donation portals.
The government emphasized that the new site will play a vital role in coordinating local and diaspora support as Jamaica begins its long-term recovery.
