Prime Minister Philip Davis paid tribute to Miller in a heartfelt statement. “Our country has lost a man whose life was dedicated to lifting others. Vaughn’s journey, from a young man in Eleuthera, to a trusted voice on the radio, to pastor, advocate, parliamentarian, and Minister, is one that reminds us that service takes many forms. His voice may now be silent, but the example he leaves behind will echo for generations.”
Miller entered national politics in 2017, when he was elected to Parliament as a member of the then-governing Free National Movement. In 2019, he crossed the floor to join the Progressive Liberal Party, which was then in opposition. Following the PLP’s victory in 2021, he was re-elected and appointed to the Cabinet, taking on responsibility for the environment and natural resources.
Throughout his career, Miller was widely regarded as a dedicated advocate for community development and environmental stewardship. His passing leaves a void in Bahamian public life at a time when environmental policy continues to shape the nation’s future.
