After a successful run in Trinidad and Tobago and across the Caribbean, Carnival Catwalk has officially made its international debut—premiering August 1, 2025, on NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, Peacock. The groundbreaking Caribbean fashion competition now claims a coveted spot on the global reality TV runway, making history as the first reality series created and produced in Trinidad and Tobago to be acquired by a major U.S. streaming network.
This milestone signals a bold leap forward for Caribbean television, culture, and creative industries.

“This is huge for our local design industry, the Carnival industry, the TV and film industry, tourism, and our culture,” said Executive Producer Jerome “Rome” Precilla. “We’ve proven that our creatives, our vision, and our culture are world-class—and the world is watching. This is our story, being told by us!”
Produced by Pavilion Entertainment and SGP Studios, and spearheaded by Precilla, Gian Franco, and Rodney Seemungal, Carnival Catwalk is a dazzling celebration of Caribbean ingenuity and artistry. The series showcases 10 designers from around the world competing in high-stakes challenges that merge the theatrical flair of Carnival with the refined edge of high fashion.
The prize? A transformative US$100,000 cash award and a spotlight showing at Milan Fashion Week—a springboard to global recognition.
But Carnival Catwalk is more than a fashion competition—it’s a love letter to Caribbean creativity. Featuring a 98% local cast and crew of over 180 professionals, the series draws on the talents of stylists, editors, production managers, models, and technicians who embody the region’s potential.
“Whether it’s designers, editors, or stylists—this show was built by us,” said Precilla. “It’s proof of what’s possible when we invest in our own.”
Star Power Meets Soca Soundscapes
At the heart of the competition is a high-caliber judging panel led by Miss Universe 1998 Wendy Fitzwilliam, joined by Anya Ayoung-Chee, Project Runway Season 9 winner and Caribbean fashion icon. Hosting duties are helmed by Trinidadian entertainer Rome and Jamaican TV personality and “Karnival Kween” Kandi King, bringing authentic flair and regional charisma to the series.
Beyond fashion, the show is a powerful platform for Caribbean music, featuring more than 150 Soca tracks throughout its nine-episode arc—a sonic feast that introduces global audiences to the infectious rhythms of the region.
“Carnival Catwalk gives the world a front-row seat to the immense skill, passion, and pride that goes into our Carnival culture—and how that translates to fashion,” said Gian Franco. “This is just the beginning.”
Making History—and Headlines
The show’s arrival on Peacock, which serves more than 41 million subscribers, places Carnival Catwalk alongside reality juggernauts like Love Island USA and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. As of this release, it currently ranks #3 on Peacock’s ‘Peacock Picks’ homepage, a major feat for a Caribbean-born series.
“We’re urging everyone in the Caribbean and diaspora to stream Carnival Catwalk,” said Executive Producer Rodney Seemungal. “This is our opportunity to show the power of our region—and to keep the door open for more Caribbean productions to enter the global space.”
The producers also extended thanks to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Tourism, and the Ministry of Culture and Community Development for their strategic support in making the series a reality.
