Georgetown, Guyana – Guyanese singer-songwriter and visual storyteller Remar has teamed up with rising Jamaican Afro-Caribbean artist Nigy Boy to release a new single titled “Good Intentions”—a cross-cultural collaboration that both artists describe as much more than just another song.
The project emerged from a creative bond formed during Nigy Boy’s past visit to Guyana, where Remar directed a music video for the Jamaican performer. That experience sparked a deeper artistic partnership, eventually culminating in the release of “Good Intentions”.

“It was a no-brainer,” said Remar. “This song needed a video to truly come to life.”
The single is backed by an impressive lineup of Guyanese talent. Producer Ridwaan built the instrumental foundation, while Remar himself wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered his verse in May 2024. The visual production brought together a dedicated creative team including videographer and editor Dwayne Jordan, co-director and concept developer Jonathan Beepat, co-producer and engineer Joel Brown, and creative contributor Jamar Marcus, who also provided background vocals.
Shot over the course of four months in both Guyana and New York, the music video reflects a commitment to creative excellence and cinematic authenticity. Remar emphasized the challenges of wearing multiple hats as both artist and director:
“Being your own creative director is a gift and a curse. You can be your own biggest critic, but thanks to my long-time creative partner Jonathan Beepat, we were able to shape the concept into something authentic and cinematic.”
Working alongside Nigy Boy proved to be a particularly rewarding experience, Remar added. Despite the long hours and unpredictable nature of the New York shoot, Nigy Boy’s professionalism and energy never wavered.
“He was a joy to work with,” Remar said. “Always present, always positive, even through the challenges.”
More than a single release, “Good Intentions” represents a statement about the growing potential of Caribbean creatives on the international stage.
“This isn’t just high-quality for Guyana, it’s high-quality by global standards,” Remar declared. “It shows what’s possible when talent, collaboration, and God’s favor align.”
The single is now available on all major streaming platforms, accompanied by a visually stunning music video that blends Remar’s signature emotional storytelling with immersive, location-driven imagery.
Looking ahead, Remar teased even more impactful work in the pipeline:
“I’m about to start working on the most meaningful and important music I’ve ever created.”
“Good Intentions” stands as both a cultural milestone and a creative blueprint, signaling the rise of a new generation of Caribbean artists unafraid to aim globally while staying rooted in authenticity.
