On February 28, Jamaica Dancehall artist Adidja Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, formally debuted the Str8 Vybz Rum in Guyana at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.
Kartel stated, “They bring the quality, me bring the Vybz.”

Four of the artist’s popular songs—Ramping Shop, Fever, Electric, and Unstoppable—are the names of the Str8 Vybz rum brand, which consists of several rum mixes.
Angostura produces the Str8 Vybz rum in Trinidad, and the company has teamed up with the Dancehall artist to promote the booze.
Kartel talked about its high quality during the debut and said that it would be able to sell itself along with the Vybz Kartel Stardom.
After stating that “they personify the songs,” Kartel went on to say, “because the fever 63% (alcohol percentage) it’s hot trust me”.
The Fever singer further noted, “then you have the unstoppable, you have the electric, they are both dark rims smooth to d taste, nice especially for the ladies…and then you have the ramping Shop which is the enhanced rum…Now ladies don’t drink this if Yuh don’t have a husband at home”.
According to Kartel, the labeling is distinctive in addition to the flavor.
“If you notice I signed the autographs that you see on the bottle myself, that is the original Vybz Kartel signature.” The dancehall legend made the observation that the product and quality are there. He added, “Look at the side of the bottle, you will see the lyrics to each song on it, so we just label it or do not hurry come thing and see a Vybz Kartel drink this.”
The dancehall phenomenon attributes the creation of Str8 Vybz rum in large part to his manager Teejay.
It was Teejay’s vision, he claimed. When Angostura approached Teejay and his colleagues with a commercial proposition to make the rum, Kartel claims that Teejay flew to the facility in Trinidad.
“He call me back, a few days later and he was like dada this it. We ready and I was like ok everything is set”, Kartel stated.
According to Kartel, containers of the rum were sold in Jamaica in the first two days after its initial release.
The dancehall performer claimed that after being impressed by the sales, he went straight to Trinidad to speak with the management and employees of the business.
Following his words, the musician performed briefly before formally launching the rum in Guyana with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Attendees of the media event had the opportunity to taste the various rum mixes. For VIP visitors, there was also an after-party at 8:00 p.m.
