At the third annual Caribbean STEM Olympiads (CSO), which was recently hosted by the Caribbean Science Foundation (CSF), Guyana won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
One of the bronze medals that Guyana brought home was won by 13-year-old Temidara Oyedotun of the School of the Nations.

During the virtual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Olympiads, which took place from January 13 to 19, teams and individuals representing themselves or educational institutions competed in three age groups: robotics and electronics systems, computer coding, and mathematics. The age groups were 12 to 15, 16 to 18, and 19 to 21.
His data processing project, “State of the Soil: State of the Crop,” which looked at how elements like bacteria affect food safety and security, earned him a gold medal in Level I of the Computer Coding Olympiad. His accomplishment in Level I of the Math Olympiad won him a bronze medal.
