With the signing of the last section of the Sister City Agreement, Barbados and New York City’s longstanding friendship was further strengthened. On November 27, the event was held in New York City Hall’s Mayor’s Office.
Lorenzo Harewood, the consul of Barbados in New York, and Eric Adams, the mayor of New York, attended the event. The agreement signifies a shared commitment to topics including tourism, education, economic growth, and the fortification of interpersonal and cultural relationships.

It also creates the possibility of future joint projects that will benefit the people of New York and Barbados by promoting fresh chances for innovation, commerce, and investment.
It is anticipated that this agreement would not only strengthen the two cities’ long-standing and strong connection, but also represent the common ideals of cooperation, advancement, and solidarity between the Caribbean Island and one of the most famous cities in the world.
