There are also plans for Prime Minister Modi to speak to Parliament.
His agenda also includes a speech to Guyana’s Indian population and Indian diaspora. At the Promenade Gardens in Georgetown, where the Mahatma Gandhi monument was erected in 1969 as part of the centennial festivities, the PM will also present a floral tribute. Additionally, he will pay a visit to the Indian Arrival Monument located in the Indian Monument Gardens. This monument honors the first ship that brought Indian indentured laborers to the Caribbean.
Modi will be the first Indian prime minister to visit this country since Indira Gandhi did it in 1968.
