Silence the Shame, a leading mental health advocacy organization, is joining forces with tech giant Microsoft to introduce an app dedicated to raising awareness, educating, and providing support for mental health.

The app offers users an opportunity to engage with the community by sharing stories, engaging in dialogue, and exploring the app’s content.
Shanti Das, CEO and founder of Silence the Shame, expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating, “Two years ago, Darrell Booker and his team at Microsoft included Silence the Shame in their global hackathon, and here we are now with this beautiful application. This is an exciting moment not only for our organization but, more importantly, for communities to have more access to mental health resources and healthy ways to cope.”
Das, an Atlanta native and former music executive, has dedicated her time to improving community health. She previously highlighted her commitment to promoting heart health in multicultural communities as a National Power Ambassador for the American Heart Association.
Darrell Booker, a corporate affairs specialist at Microsoft, emphasized the importance of addressing mental health challenges using technology. He stated, “We acknowledge the silent battles many face with mental health… Technology, like the .NET MAUI mobile app powered by
Microsoft, offers a beacon of hope. This app provides a discreet and accessible platform for support… it’s a lifeline that can save lives by connecting us to the help we need, right from our mobile devices.”
The app’s launch coincides with National Silence the Shame Day on May 5, coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Month.
