The 21st Annual Women of Excellence and Men of Vision Awards were held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Astoria Manor in Queens

Hosted by Kathy Sharpton, Chairwoman of the National Action Network Women’s Auxiliary Harlem Chapter and emceed by Fashion Consultant, Audrey Smaltz the afternoon was dedicated to honoring those whose accomplishments and contributions hold forward action.

The afternoon was highlighted by the attendance of noted Harlem luminaries including Dr. James A. Forbes, Jr., Senior Minister Emeritus, Riverside, The Honorable Supreme Court Judge Tanya Kennedy, Robin Verges, SVP, Rubenstein and Associates, Ms. Linney Smith,VP, Housing Works, Inc..Jacqueline Warner, Esq., Jamie Foster Brown, Publisher, Sister 2 Sister, Ms. Gloria Lowe,Educator and Ms. Gina Ramcharan, Harlem Business Alliance.  Mr. Lewis was honored for his long-standing, commitment to Harlem through community service. Additional honorees included Billy Council, Yvette Hayward, Melba Wilson, Canara Price, Marcia Pendelton, Troy Ashford, Angela Pondexter, Alvin Ponder, Carol Moorer, Reverend Edward Benson, Erika Fareed, Akram Fareed and Little “Pie” McElveen.
